Learning Objectives

  • Explain the essential requirements for competent practice in caries management by risk assessment and direct restorations.
  • Describe the essential charting elements and content required to satisfy professional, legal and ethical expectations for documenting restorative dentistry care related to caries management and direct restorations.
  • Identify deficiencies and opportunities to address these deficiencies and strengthen their own practice by applying principles learned in this course to improve their practice.

Mandatory Knowledge Assessment

  • Participants must attend the full 3-hour session and successfully complete an independent, multiple-choice knowledge assessment within two weeks.
  • The assessment follows the PET administration protocols and is completed online with a time limit of 2 hours. A minimum score of 18/25 is required and provides one opportunity to re-take for those who score lower than 18/25.
  • No partial CE points or category 2 points are provided for participants who do not attempt or who do not successfully complete the knowledge assessment.
