Key Responsibilities for Dentists in Ontario

There are other important responsibilities that dentists in Ontario must uphold throughout their practice and career. These include:

• practising safe, ethical and high-quality dental care in accordance with the law, the College’s standards, guidelines, advisories, by-laws and policies
• fulfilling your regulatory obligations throughout your practice, including mandatory reporting and protecting patient privacy
• displaying appropriate professional conduct and attitude
• maintaining professional patient–dentist relationships
• participating in the College’s Quality Assurance Program to maintain continued competence throughout your career
• annual renewal of your certificate of registration.
